溝蕎麦（みぞそば）Polygonum thunbergii

多年草　　　たで科たで属　　分布地　沖縄を除く全国
開花期　７～１０月　　　花径　３ｍｍ位（集合花２５ｍｍ位）　　草丈　８０ｃｍまで
花と葉が蕎麦（そば）に似ていて、田の溝などに多く生えているところから、このように呼ばれているそうです。田の溝、川の縁ような湿った所を好み、そこに群生します。お花は米粒のような形で、枝先に密集し咲き、小さくて愛らしいお花で茎にはトゲがあります。ご覧のお花はピンクがほとんどです。赤、白は珍しいと思います。
[別名]牛の額（うしのひたい）…葉の形が正面から見た牛の顔の輪かくに似ていることから。
