小葉の髄菜（こばのずいな） Itea virginica

落葉低木 ゆきのした科ずいな属 原産 アメリカ東部
開花期　5～6月　　　房の長さ3cm位（花の長さ5mm位）　　　樹高1.5mまで
昔、幹枝の髄の部分を灯心というものに使ったことから「髄菜」、その「髄菜」より葉が小さい葉っぱなので「小葉」と呼ばれたようです。白いブラシ状の集団花を咲かせます。葉は細長い楕円形で互生し鋸歯で、先は尖ります。日本の暖地には花房は長いズイナがあり若葉を食用にしたそうです。[栽培]強健で栽培しやすく耐寒耐暑性があります。日当たりの良い肥沃地へ植えます。湿気を好むます。2～3月に植えます。挿し木で繁殖させます。
